Information you can do without.

Hello all. I'm a silly cartoonist, and this is my blog. What is the purpose of this blog? Why, to post unrefined doodles, and glances into the inner workings of my mind, of course. Oh, and probably some comic pages and stuff. I go to SCAD-Atlanta for comics. I like poached eggs, but I've never made them myself. I'm too scared.

Commission sketches . . . and Gru.

Okay, so, funny story. And by funny story, I mean, not really that funny.

Once upon a time, I tried to advertise art commissions on gaiaonline.com; only to discover that it is against the site's rules to make a profit with real money (only gaia gold) on that site. However, one person sent me a pm in response to a thread I had posted, stating that had only gaia gold to give me, but could I please draw their avatar, pretty please, they'll give me 50,000 g for it!

So I'm thinking, "Hey, not that I care about digital currency, but if I draw this guy's avatar and he shows people . . . that might help business!"

And of course, it turns out that it's world's most complicated character design. I had to simplify alot of it. But the picture below is it. Inks and colors will be added later.

Oh, and the first picture is for my friend Molly, who requested I design a character, Julius, who was created last year when she, our friend Michelle, and I made up a silly song about a man . . . named Julius. Who murdered his family. And had feelings. Yeah.

As a less funny story, this girl on deviantART is commissioning me to draw her an inked sketched of some characters from Nightmare Ned, an old computer game. I never heard of it before, but the shadow creatures are sooooooo much fun to draw. :) The actual drawing will show Ned as a teenager though. With hair. As requested by the lady who commissioned me.

And lastly, I saw Despicable Me yesterday! :) I've said this a zillion times, but I'll say it again: Not the strongest story. It wasn't constructed well. But the characters just . . . latched onto my heart (okay, cheesey, I know). And it's weird, because even though there are movies that have better storytelling than Despicable Me (and better antagonists . . . and plots . . . and stuff), I just can't stop thinking about this one.

I feel like I want to keep drawing fanart. ENDLESS FANART.

But alas, I have commissions to work on.

Love, Pinky L.
