Information you can do without.

Hello all. I'm a silly cartoonist, and this is my blog. What is the purpose of this blog? Why, to post unrefined doodles, and glances into the inner workings of my mind, of course. Oh, and probably some comic pages and stuff. I go to SCAD-Atlanta for comics. I like poached eggs, but I've never made them myself. I'm too scared.

Beach time! Part one

Before I get onto the beach time sketches, I think y'all should know I redesigned Libby; made her shorter and . . . meatier? More voluptuous? Whatever. Basically, she's far closer to resembling our dachshund now, who is pretty big and stocky as far as miniatures go. She's practically a standard. Anyway, yeah. This design is much easier to draw consistently. I had trouble with the tall, skinny version.

And here we have my characters in their beachwear! :) I have this idea for a series of illustrations/mini-comics invovling these guys at the beach, and now that I only have two commissions to work on, I figure I'll have more time to work on that.

I think I've been drawing Galileo too tall lately. Or standing to his true height; usually he's bending his knees more. And I made him less tubby. My excuse is, it's summer, he's more active and loses weight. XD Yeaaaaah . . . And Oxenfree just makes me so happy. So very, very happy. He reminds me of a little kid.

I figure at this point, Raquel will be chilling with Ollie on a regular basis; I might even start the series off where they're already friends. Haven't decided.

Libby and Norman, beach wear. Libby isn't really friends with any of them, but I wanted to draw her too. And Norman . . . XD I figure Ollie and Norman would get along, since they can both be kind of sour when they're not happy with their surroundings. They could complain about the beach together.

And now, if you can even make out these scribbles . . .

Just some ideas I have for the beach thing . . . Ollie's the only one who has a car or who can even drive, so Galileo probably entices her to take them all to the beach. Norman was kidnapped. Yup.

I know I said in my last post (I think it was) that I need to develop my plots more, but this is more the type of series that just relies on the characters interacting. Which I sometimes worry may be too boring for people who aren't familiar with/don't care about the characters. But eh. I do what I want. Fo' sho.

Not to mention, while the ideas in my head seem boring, when I get around to actually making comic pages, they usually turn out somewhat entertaining. Not that my ten pager was really that great in quality, but I thought it was at least a fun little story. I just want to keep that zany feel throughout the series, I guess.

Love,
Pinky L.

P.s. More thumbnails/rough sketches to come later!
