It was supposed to reflect personality as well as the physical appearance. I was stumped on how to represent myself, and I didn't want to go the boring route of "I'm shy." (Even though it's true.)

My friend Alicia always calls me a creep, since I'll hit on her basically . . . everyday. So I went with that, and got a little silly with it.

Below that (the one with me in the hat and my arms crossed), is a much more accurate representation of me. I try to be friendly, but sadly, I'm not that outgoing, and tend to hide behind my hat. So, I'm shy, but instead of being cute about it, I think I come off as mean/aloof/unapproachable.

I'm not sure what the cookie thing is about.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 306px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VNSQl9tJDuo/TZk1pL7OEpI/AAAAAAAAAK0/El4WEBl8Nzk/s400/cartoonme001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591559394049266322" />

And here we have Emily Morrison's (known as Zazzypaws on deviantart) Sean from her comic, Carmine. And the little fuzzy guy at the top is supposed to be one of her characters too, but I don't know his name. I tried coloring Sean last week, and haven't finished it yet, so here ya go. Him in all his unfinished glory.

I was at Invadercon when I drew this (and actually purchased Carmine), hence the cruddy Zim doodle next to Sean. I almost wish I were back in the fanart thing, because I could actually draw Zim well back in the day.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 291px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AxMufOocvK0/TZk19vhonQI/AAAAAAAAAK8/v1rIGNi4hLo/s400/sean001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591559747203013890" />

Lastly, also drawn at Invadercon is Cassie Thomas' (ToUseBothSyllables, also deviantArt) Kila! I've been ridiculously interested in drawing Kila for awhile now, and actually got around to it at the con (because I bought prints, and prints equals REFERENCE! Wonderful, wonderful reference that I was too lazy to print up otherwise).

Anyway, Kila is a really fun character, and I want to do an actual good drawing of her. One day. Maybe it'll have color. Or not. She also vaguely reminds me of my character Raquel, or maybe it's just the way I drew her (the bottom left doodle anyway). Not that they're similar, or anything. Idk.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 270px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C6-li6ztrec/TZk2K51DbaI/AAAAAAAAALE/liJO1ehkjlQ/s400/kila001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5591559973307116962" />

I get more excited drawing other people's characters these days.

I've been pretty unmotivated for anything, and school is the only thing keeping me drawing now (Invadercon was a fluke!). Hat Hair is on a sort-of hiatus. The school quarter just started, and I'm already anxious for summer. I miss Jersey.

I have this idea for a mini-comic but I'm not sure if I'll get to it. And I have two commissions to work on. Yeesh.

Love,
Pinky L.

Well, hey dere. Don'tcha know.

Here are two pages from my webcomic, Hat Hair; before I prettied them up and whatnot. I haven't posted anything artistic in awhile, and I like seeing unprettified artwork. I wish I had more sketches to show for myself, but sadly, I haven't been drawing that much these days. Hoping this next quarter will change that. I also took a big break from my webcomic, but I'm back on track again. Back on a very crappy track of low-quality pages. Whoo.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 306px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QD84ZR_rL0Q/TYpMONB1HRI/AAAAAAAAAKs/T9UC4fKIhcA/s400/hathairpg7001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587362094605737234" />

There's a part of me that really hates coloring; even inking. I mean, both are fun to do, but I always ruin something. Kirk's "Buh-buh-buh" face (below) was a lot cuter before I inked it, for instance. I just feel like something gets lost in the process of refining it.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 306px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-gBjPnQJ-lRw/TYpL7f5v8fI/AAAAAAAAAKk/pCj18g-7hY8/s400/hathairpg8001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5587361773254603250" />

Anyway, I've been going through a lot of changes recently, and I'm hoping that'll mean I'll have more art to show for it. That's always been a pretty good coping method. Either that, or I'll write some silly angst songs. It'll be superb.

Later days, comrades.

-Pinky L.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pinkylillix.blogspot.com/2011/03/well-hey-dere-dontcha-know.html' title='Well, hey dere. I was cooped up in my room all, pretty much driving myself nuts, then when I decided to tag along with my friend Jen for a walk, we stopped at the other dorm building, met up with a good friend, and I drew this nonsense. I don't know.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 306px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TS0KQQ4IaVI/AAAAAAAAAKY/Qkahw6S3Iq8/s400/doodle001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561112389397014866" />
Really. I don't. But Maw Rice and Wiggy Z make me laugh. Their names alone. XD Maw Rice was suggested by my friend Rachel/Crackpot.

Now below is an example of what I did during winter break . . . basically mindless doodles, no actual illustrations or anything. I was trying to practice with a brush and stuff. I actually enjoy how messy it looks. It's sort of chaotic and energetic. Which I haven't been feeling lately, but oh well.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 285px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TS0KNnpmsaI/AAAAAAAAAKQ/rcQH1Tz5PoE/s400/doodle002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561112343970492834" />

And here is a crappily done character page for my webcomic, Hat Hair; though this is before I decided to make it a webcomic. So this was done back in December. More crappy brush nonsense. Pillar (the bald guy) reminds me of my friend Brian, so I feel like I should change his design some. I wasn't really thinking through, and I haven't introduced Pillar in the story yet, so there's time!

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 323px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TS0KKKauiqI/AAAAAAAAAKI/fAFI_mBtHq0/s400/doodle003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5561112284583856802" />

That's it for now. Feelin' a little better than in my last post.

I'm not too thrilled about needing to make up school days due to the snow, but I get to see my boyfriend tomorrow. :3 Hopefully. And religious stuff.

I'm terrified of the future. Lately, my fears and worries have been taking center stage in my mind. It's been building and building, manifesting into anxiety attacks. Anxiety hasn't been this much of a constant issue since I was 17. I'm afraid of the anxiety itself too; whenever I start to feel it physically, it almost immediately throws me into a panic, doing whatever I can to calm whatever thoughts are worrying me at the moment, thinking, "This worry must be the source. If I stop worrying, I won't have an attack." And of course, fighting it just makes it worse.

It's frantic. It's constant. I don't know what I can do to stop it. I've been praying a lot, but less for the root of the problem to be discovered, so I can deal with it, and more for all these bad feelings to just disappear effortlessly. I know that's not how it works. But I'm scared to just let my thoughts run their course. I'm scared of the conclusions they might lead me to.

At the same time, constantly trying to control every passing thought is exhausting. I'm worn out. I'm looking forward to school, just so I'll have other things to focus on. I keep going to my mom and venting everything to her; but now it's getting to be the same thing over and over. All the worries I keep voicing haven't changed since my winter break began, and within the first few days of worrying obsessively, I felt this peace, like God was letting me know it was okay for me to just relax, enjoy myself, that things would work out in their own time; through that, through my mother's words, through the few rational thoughts of my own, I realized there really was nothing to worry about. In my better moments, I know this.

I know life will just happen, and I can't be so reluctant to face each day just because things might not turn out exactly how I want.

But for all the moments of peace, I keep waking up in a state of panic. I can't brush it off. I keep obsessively reviewing the worries, the fears, over and over in my brain. I can hardly stomach food these days. And when the anxiety isn't as bad, I just feel depressed, a physical pressure on my heart. No matter how much sleep I get, I'm always tired. This morning I didn't want to get out of bed. I had been awake for an hour, and was just lying there, trying to fight off more of the anxiety, and just a general unwillingness to do anything. It went beyond my usual laziness. It scared me. I hadn't been like that in awhile.

And this-this endless cycle of fear and anxiety, this physical aching, this feeling of constant heartbreak . . . in my attempts to control it, it's really controlling me.

So I had this thought earlier this evening, that I just would never get over it; it's just the way I am, how I deal with things. My tendency to over-analyze and over-complicate everything will never go away.

And so it was like, "Okay. I'll leave it at that happy conclusion."

But then, I imagined God slapping me upside the head, like he was saying, "Really, Sara? Are you kidding me?"

And I'm not the type of person to memorize scripture (hell, to memorize anything for that matter). But the verse "With God, all things are possible," popped in my head.

It was the first time I'd really felt it being brought to my attention. For all my worrying, that was a comforting thought.

I know I'll probably continue to worry. But tonight was a tiny step forward. Knowing I can grow from this. That God's got my back. That the seemingly impossible can happen.

And I'm really only posting this here, because all of two people read my blog. If that. I plan on coloring this one. :)

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 356px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TGm0MWalfUI/AAAAAAAAAJk/4_W0CM_J2is/s400/Beachthumbnails.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506130143705660738" />

More ideas. Galileo surfing, Raquel stealing from a lady's bag, and one I didn't even bother finishing.

And over here we have:

MORE THUMBNAILS. BUT FOR A COMIC THIS TIME. A very unexciting comic, but I just had this little interaction in my head and wanted to play around with it.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 248px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TGm0M-AJnpI/AAAAAAAAAJs/vkb5yMr7yTM/s400/raquelpg1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5506130154332200594" />

My thumbnails are pretty erratic, because I will randomly give attention to one feature on the page, and the rest will just be messy scribbles. More voluptuous? Whatever. Basically, she's far closer to resembling our dachshund now, who is pretty big and stocky as far as miniatures go. She's practically a standard. Anyway, yeah. This design is much easier to draw consistently. I had trouble with the tall, skinny version.

And here we have my characters in their beachwear! :) I have this idea for a series of illustrations/mini-comics invovling these guys at the beach, and now that I only have two commissions to work on, I figure I'll have more time to work on that.

I think I've been drawing Galileo too tall lately. Or standing to his true height; usually he's bending his knees more. And I made him less tubby. My excuse is, it's summer, he's more active and loses weight. XD Yeaaaaah . . . And Oxenfree just makes me so happy. So very, very happy. He reminds me of a little kid.

I figure at this point, Raquel will be chilling with Ollie on a regular basis; I might even start the series off where they're already friends. Haven't decided.

Libby and Norman, beach wear. Libby isn't really friends with any of them, but I wanted to draw her too. And Norman . . . XD I figure Ollie and Norman would get along, since they can both be kind of sour when they're not happy with their surroundings. They could complain about the beach together.

And now, if you can even make out these scribbles . . .

Just some ideas I have for the beach thing . . . Ollie's the only one who has a car or who can even drive, so Galileo probably entices her to take them all to the beach. Norman was kidnapped. Yup.

I know I said in my last post (I think it was) that I need to develop my plots more, but this is more the type of series that just relies on the characters interacting. Which I sometimes worry may be too boring for people who aren't familiar with/don't care about the characters. But eh. I do what I want. Fo' sho.

Not to mention, while the ideas in my head seem boring, when I get around to actually making comic pages, they usually turn out somewhat entertaining. Not that my ten pager was really that great in quality, but I thought it was at least a fun little story. I just want to keep that zany feel throughout the series, I guess.

Love,
Pinky L.

P.s. More thumbnails/rough sketches to come later!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://pinkylillix.blogspot.com/2010/08/beach-time-part-one.html' title='Beach time! I just doodled all over my paper while I was listening. At first I was making an effort to take notes on what Chris (the guy who leads it) was saying, but then I just started doodling in between specific points where he would elaborate more, and never got back to note-taking.

These doodles aren't really anything special, but eh. Figured I'd put 'em up anyway. It's a little weird, because I used to have, like . . . the House Style of Pinky Lillix or something, and now I don't have a set style really . . . so whenever I draw my older characters (like Clox and Bone on the page above), they come out looking drastically different each time. I mean, it's still them. But I haven't gotten to a point yet where I'm like, "THIS IS HOW I'LL DRAW THEM FROM NOW ON."

It keeps changing. And that's okay. My story ideas for these characters keep changing too. But then . . . I'm changing! *cue cheesy anthem about self-discovery*

I've also come to the conclusion that I need to learn how to come up with plots. I focus so much on characters, that there's never much of a story going on. ANYWAY . . .

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 309px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TFJDh6SctlI/AAAAAAAAAIE/uL6HfseMS1I/s400/Biblestudydoodlesdude.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5499532344834176594" />

I know I have a really, really, REALLY long way to go with my cartooning. Especially considering I'm being put to shame by high schoolers who totally kick my ass in this department (fellow deviantArt peeps). Like, it hurts my heart and makes me want to crawl into a box that's floating down a river that's heading towards a waterfall.

But despite that realization, I still get moments where I'm just feelin' it. . . and it's rarely for pictures I've spent a long time on, or put a lot of effort into. Usually for dumb, uninspired doodles like the one above, I just stop for a moment and think, "Damn. I'm good."

And I think it's less about the finished product, and more about the process of the drawing; like the movement of the pen feels so natural and smooth, that it's like I know this is where my heart really lies. Which sounds really frickin' cheesy.

But maybe that's why it's rare I like any finished drawing I have, and favor the doodles; because the doodles were done without worrying about getting every line right, or everything shaded properly. It's like in the course of refining my drawings, something gets lost.

But the doodles themselves are just . . . themselves. It's organic and real, and often it has so much more life to it than anything else I attempt.

I'm not really sure where this ramble is coming from, so I'm going to end it here.

I like doodles. The end.

Love,
Pinky L.

Commission sketches . . . and Gru.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 281px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TDqJGULmb4I/AAAAAAAAAH8/-j0cu71JIsM/s400/JuliusDesign.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492853437121326978" />

Okay, so, funny story. And by funny story, I mean, not really that funny.

Once upon a time, I tried to advertise art commissions on gaiaonline.com; only to discover that it is against the site's rules to make a profit with real money (only gaia gold) on that site. However, one person sent me a pm in response to a thread I had posted, stating that had only gaia gold to give me, but could I please draw their avatar, pretty please, they'll give me 50,000 g for it!

So I'm thinking, "Hey, not that I care about digital currency, but if I draw this guy's avatar and he shows people . . . that might help business!"

And of course, it turns out that it's world's most complicated character design. I had to simplify alot of it. But the picture below is it. Inks and colors will be added later.

Oh, and the first picture is for my friend Molly, who requested I design a character, Julius, who was created last year when she, our friend Michelle, and I made up a silly song about a man . . . named Julius. Who murdered his family. And had feelings. Yeah.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 344px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TDqE2enjAcI/AAAAAAAAAH0/RxCLOmB4Q2s/s400/AvatarPencils.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492848766998479298" />

As a less funny story, this girl on deviantART is commissioning me to draw her an inked sketched of some characters from Nightmare Ned, an old computer game. I never heard of it before, but the shadow creatures are sooooooo much fun to draw. :) The actual drawing will show Ned as a teenager though. With hair. As requested by the lady who commissioned me.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 288px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TDqEnj-3HhI/AAAAAAAAAHs/kz_rggsHeZc/s400/NedSketch.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492848510740405778" />

And lastly, I saw Despicable Me yesterday! :) I've said this a zillion times, but I'll say it again: Not the strongest story. It wasn't constructed well. But the characters just . . . latched onto my heart (okay, cheesey, I know). And it's weird, because even though there are movies that have better storytelling than Despicable Me (and better antagonists . . . and plots . . . and stuff), I just can't stop thinking about this one.

I feel like I want to keep drawing fanart. ENDLESS FANART.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 398px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TDqEWFz14qI/AAAAAAAAAHk/d9S6AMN68ZM/s400/Grupencils.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5492848210583347874" />

But alas, I have commissions to work on.

Love, Pinky L.

Nothing special.

Something I doodled last month when I was depressed. :-/ I'm not entirely sure where I was going with it, and just kinda stopped when it felt right.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 330px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TC4GMdrgycI/AAAAAAAAAHU/4NazwMFnzfc/s400/trapped.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5489331807006542274" />

This morning I finally scanned it, messed around in photoshop, and turned it to this.
Yay gradients . . .? I have serious issues with the actors not resembling their characters at ALL (since when is Katara white . . . or is Zuko not white. . . or is Iroh not fat? Okay, third season doesn't count). But the bending looks really amazing. So I'm still excited.

In other news, my mom and I have been fighting more and more recently. The guy asked if I could tone down my style though and make it more Looney Tunes style . . . don't know if I succeeded there. Oh wellz.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 252px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TCV5OKdkLpI/AAAAAAAAAHM/tUYsacwhomo/s400/polarbear.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5486925005254307474" />

And this is a design for my brother's character "Polar McCoy," for a book of short stories he's trying to publish . . . except now he's thinking he wants to go in a different direction, so this may not even get used, BUT I will still be illustrating. Phew. Which means money.

In unrelated-to-art news, I accidentally hit the back of a parked truck today while trying to park my dad's car. I left a pretty big dent, and no one was around, so I left contact information in the windshield wiper. :-/ Still awaiting a call. I'm so nervous. Second accident I've been in, and the second one that was my own damn fault.

I got so upset I didn't go to this game night my youth group was having, until a bunch of them sent individual text messages saying "You" "should" "be" and "here." Except I got them out of order, but it was still really sweet. 'Cause then they all just wrote variations of "You should be here!" anyway. XD I forget what a great group of kids they are. :) Okay, technically one of them's my age, but the rest are kids. I love 'em all.

Been really depressed lately (what else is new), but tonight cheered me up.

I don't think I have a chemical imbalance, but there's no way to be sure. I'm thinking I want to get it checked out. THIS BLOG WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FOR SKETCHES ONLY!!!! :O DJJADJKDL:KADAKDAL:KD:LDK:LADKOD

Oh well. I kinda broke that with the Kiefer post. ANYWAY.

I am not posting this picture on my deviantART for the mere fact that its sole purpose was to figure out the color scheme for Ollie and Oxenfree-scratch that-this FILE was to figure out their color schemes. I am planning to re-color this picture nicely and all fancy-like once I'm able to get Photoshop CS3 (which I technically have on my computer now thanks to a friend of mine, but there's all this technical stuff going wrong, so bleh)(curse you, faulty serial numbers!).

And anyway, I messed up while preparing the lineart to be colored. Since I only have, erm . . . *cough*Photoshop 5.0 Elements*cough*, I can't get rid of blue pencil lines, smudges, etc, the same way I could at school with our fancy updated programs. So. THAT'S a pain in the ass.

I started this blog last summer with no intentions of making it professional. It still isn't. But I worry if one day I'll be trying to get a job or something, and my potential publisher people look at this cruddy blog . . . you know, like how some employers facebook-stalk their employees to make sure they don't act like hooligans. And so the publishers will see this and see how cruddy this is. AND I'LL NEVER WORK IN THIS TOWN AGAIN. D:

I don't like how Ollie's ear is cropped, so I will fix that later!

That is all! And I might change the stripes on Ollie's shirt. I DON'T KNOW.

Love,
Pinky L.

(Actually, considering I use a pseudonym for this blog, I doubt the publishers will find it . . . phew. This is where I started to like Kiefer, just a little. Actually, it was only after I'd finished; actually drawing Kiefer is a pain in the ass. But I'm usually happy with how he looks afterwards. Usually.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 346px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfSQsdhxHI/AAAAAAAAAGk/CU_ewPjar5w/s400/Kiefer_Expressions_by_Pinkys1985.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478578655974245490" />

I got a little carried away, and gave him a family and all. These doodles weren't for class, I just felt like drawing them; I figure since he's pretty much epic fail in most areas of life, and all his coworkers hate him, he needs at least one place where he's wanted. So, he has a good family. His daughter is Lucy; his girlfriend/fiancee is Tina. I wanted to make them married, but I don't know. I kinda like this scandalous relationship. :P
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 309px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfLzn2mA3I/AAAAAAAAAGU/BqPD3HrJNDM/s400/DroozminFamily.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478571559451231090" />

This is the comic strip we had to do; basically, our character had to climb over something, no dialogue.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 144px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfLnzohwmI/AAAAAAAAAGM/rH8RPph5yuk/s400/comicstrip2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478571356455027298" />

The one pager; same gist, just make it one page. Out of the three assignments, this is my least favorite. The upset fish kid in the last panel is named Harold; my friend Jen named him. She said he seems like the kind of kid whose birthday would get ruined every year.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 264px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfLcxPDcQI/AAAAAAAAAGE/pnU-bQEbaz4/s400/onepager.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478571166832750850" />

And the three pager! Despite its many, many flaws (that I won't go on about here), I am really proud of this. Lucy came out so adorable, I nearly cried while drawing it. Don't ask. I'm too emotional when it comes to cute kids. I also added Harold in again, but he doesn't seem as wonderful as he did in the one pager. Oh well.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 261px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfKvzUpycI/AAAAAAAAAF8/b9MJcb5o7rM/s400/threepage1.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478570394298993090" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 260px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfKUkoK-MI/AAAAAAAAAF0/0PEGH162ado/s400/threepage2.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478569926497859778" />
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 260px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfJvrNfbPI/AAAAAAAAAFs/Vs9jWw8ABuI/s400/threepage3.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478569292609842418" />

My teacher (Chris Schweizer) drew this one. :) Since I drew his characters awhile ago after reading The Crogan Adventures, he did this in return. Which is especially awesome, because I wasn't expecting it. So, yeah. I aim to become better than this one day. Just watch me.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 235px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/TAfI6M7QTlI/AAAAAAAAAFk/P8Tm-WJ2qi0/s400/schweizer001.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5478568373947223634" />

Whoo, big post! I'm still planning to work on the Galileo and Bohemia thing this summer, but Kiefer shall get his fair share of doodles too. Though I miss drawing Norman, so I think I'll get to that soon.

That is all, my dearies.

Later days,
Pinky L.

And away we go.

Hello there. <img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S9PQpIUgHtI/AAAAAAAAAFU/MQoR_9jQBF8/s400/img003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463940177957232338" /> What happens when a young, impressionable mind is exposed to Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon and Lays Stax? This.

This was drawn while I was accompanying my bff on a college visit to GSU.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 388px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S9PQjCtVtxI/AAAAAAAAAFM/qtCRhJyghxg/s400/img004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463940073371580178" />
I just like the idea of someone with a zillion babies, so I figured I could make that someone a rabbit. I figure she lives in Bohemia, she's married to another fine rabbit named Milo (based off my stuffed bunny). Her babies will get more specific designs later on, if I feel like actually using her. My bff (Rachael) and I were also toying around with the idea of making Penelope friends with this horribly skinny bunny who obsessively wants kids, but can't have them.

Drawn at Rachael's house. Her dog Kodiac stepped on it 'cause we were outside, and thus, the dirt marks. <img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 324px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S9PQd-7DvMI/AAAAAAAAAFE/Q5j05ent4kw/s400/img005.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5463939986456034498" />
I figure anytime Raquel isn't stealing (which is usually just at night), she has this tank top for more casual wear. Plus, it's easier to draw than her giant sweater. Not to mention it's always hot in Georgia, and so drawing people in sweaters makes me feel uncomfortably warm.

That is all.

Love,
Pinky L.

Postin' stuffs.

Art history is good for one thing, and one thing only: Doodles. :3

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 312px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S7jl7FRhBpI/AAAAAAAAAE8/btDjzsYyrlU/s400/img001.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456363751750043282" /> Dis here is just some more Ollie and Oxenfree love. I'm still not entirely sure what the size difference between the two is, so I've been playing around with the possibilities. I've also been thinking that Ollie probably works at a library; decided partially due to the fact that she looks like a libarian, and also, since I've worked at one myself. . . I figure I can come up with some crazy stories based off experience. I drew her in a pretty dress, just 'cause. :) I love how awkward and cute she looks.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 159px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S7jl2xx5iNI/AAAAAAAAAE0/3OCoVPZbFzw/s400/img004.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456363677797681362" /> The fly character has been around for quite some time; I figure in between longer stories/episodes, there'll be some shorts about Norman Baits trying to catch a tasty fly for lunch, but he never succeeds, due to various comical . . . stuffs. I also decided at one point or another, the fly's going to recruit his good friend, the wasp, to "take care" of Norman. :3

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 348px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S7jlyNRFQUI/AAAAAAAAAEs/xZhwC3oj4uc/s400/img002.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456363599276884290" /> Raquel Swipes . . . considering she's one of the only characters who's supposed to actively be dealing with issues a tad more serious than this series probably calls for (basically, her husband dies. . . or so she thinks), I figured I'd explore how she'd handle grief and such; though I'll try to steer away from emo-fest, I also want to be sensitive to the emotions she'll go through. I also figure her grieving will be the one thing Ollie the Cat will sympathize with, seeing as any other time, Raquel's a bit hard to keep up with (being psychotic and all). But eventually Ollie and Raquel will be bffs. Not right off the bat though.

The top left picture should've featured Raquel with larger ears though. . . she looks like Sandy Cheeks now. >_>

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S7jlq5I-f4I/AAAAAAAAAEk/-EKhVpyOaXM/s400/img003.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5456363473615093634" /> Annnnnnnd a random elf!

That is all.

Smell ya later, gramps!

Love,
Pinky L.

P.s. Quite obviously, alot of this is rushed, and there were some more technical aspects that my teacher later pointed out didn't work, and by the last few pages, the inking got really horrendous. BUT it's finished. That's all that matters. : D Crazy hobo inspired by Crackpot's character Jorgonzola, and the hobo from Invader Zim. Sound effect "spash" inspired by me not being able to spell, "Splash" correctly after working ten hours straight.

First Galileo comic is finished! Whoo! Norman Baits. :) Of course, there's more where that came from, but these are my favorite ones. And I'm too lazy to scan more.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 374px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S56kl4m3q5I/AAAAAAAAAC0/DEsrumVV6qM/s400/tadpoles.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5448973569922411410" /> I've decided that Norman has a sister, and those tadpoles are his nephews/nieces. The tadpoles' father may possibly be a toad, or otherwise, a very large frog. I only doodled him once two months ago, but he's an intellectual thug. He bullies Norman, but only because Norman is such a snarky wimp. The tadpoles however, love their uncle.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 392px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S56kro2U6VI/AAAAAAAAAC8/hhozvCnk0DM/s400/BlindDates.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5448973668771490130" /> This is one of those things I drew without thinking, and was pretty much laughing the whole time. I have this subplot in mind for Norman, where his sister keeps trying to set him up with different lady frogs, and it all goes horribly wrong. And yes, I know frogs don't have boobs. Live with it.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 348px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/S56kyu-4tFI/AAAAAAAAADE/80yl4e_IqO4/s400/SadNorman.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5448973790677087314" /> Just expressions. I love this page though. Some faces may be too light and not show up on the screen.

A'ight. It's dinner time, and I got nuttin' else to say. Named "Norman Baits" as a cheesey parody of Norman Bates from Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho". . . though this isn't to imply the frog's a muderer. I just thought it would be slightly humorous, since the last line in the movie is about Norman not harming a fly, and this Norman, well. . .eats flies. He's a frog. Yeah. An update?! : D Why, yes, yes it is! Anyway. . . I was doodling with sharpies last night, and wanted to dabble in more exagerrated cartoony styles than I'm used to. Plus I realized while I love anthromorphic animals (in a totally non-furry way), I've never actually drawn them (or at least, drawn them well).

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 290px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/SzjZsXDFYnI/AAAAAAAAACU/Z8Tytag3t3M/s400/Doodle1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420321507664814706" /> I started with the beaver-rabbit, then the frog. :) The frog I instantly fell in love with, so rest assured, I shall be doodling him more. However, Ollie the cat makes me smile, and soooooo. . .

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 250px; height: 400px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/SzjZfLvaBtI/AAAAAAAAACE/YCo77ZeQeRg/s400/Doodle3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420321281291192018" /> I drew her again! : D Along with the beaver-rabbit-turned-dog. And the frog. And Peter the squirrel is paying homage to my friend Fiona's character, PD, who is an angry, purple squirrel demon. Or at least, he was supposed to. I wanted to make him psychotic, but he just looks grumpy to me.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 294px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/SzjZXscKexI/AAAAAAAAAB8/wVCkY2k6BRs/s400/Doodle4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420321152629898002" /> Expressions of the beaver-rabbit-turned-dog. I like 'em, though I obviously messed up. I shall name him one day. He's not the brightest, but has all the qualities of a good dog; loyal, protective, happy, friendly, energetic, etc.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 329px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/SzjZRdyKWtI/AAAAAAAAAB0/xUiuMmWHnVs/s400/Doodle5.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420321045616417490" /> Ollie the cat expressions. Seeing as I have much more experience with dogs (owning three myself), I have less of a feel for this character, but she is sweet. I'm basing her off random neighborhood cats, cats of friends, etc. who were friendly enough to approach you, but were more stand-offish in typical cat-fashion.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 293px; height: 400px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/SzjZJye4pHI/AAAAAAAAABs/M8SVTsprwFU/s400/Doodle6.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420320913733756018" /> I wanted to pay homage to Jessica Rabbit (being on a Roger Rabbit kick recently), but since I made her a dog, I couldn't resist having her act, well. . .like a dog. So, she's sexy, but still lets her tongue fly in the wind when she's in the car, begs for food, loves squeaky toys, etc. Then, as I started thinking about more specific points to her personality (sort of snooty, but affectionate, a bit spoiled and a whiner), I realized she is basically our dachshund, Libby. Hence, the name.

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 291px; height: 400px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_fKonGypXkbU/SzjZDpPyAGI/AAAAAAAAABk/5IJgJ395CHo/s400/Doodle7.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5420320808175272034" /> Then, for kicks, I drew my puppy Zorro, and the family dog, Bailey. XD My brothers and dad all agreed I got Bailey down perfectly. She's an ol' grump. :) And Zorro's pretty accurate too. I kinda wanna draw more of these two, demonstrating the essence of their relationship: Zorro wants to play, Bailey's like, "Get away from me, you son of a bitch." >_> lulz. Get it? 'Cause he's a dog. And a bitch is. . .yeah. Okay.

That is all.

Happy holidays! :)

Love,
Pinky L.

Blog-de-blog

Well, now I'm officially uninterested with this blog, but will keep it around for scrap doodles I deem unworthy for deviantART, or possibly for comics spanning over several pages, just for convienence. Tomorrow it will be two weeks since I left home for SCAD, and now it's starting to sink in more, that this is not all fun and games, and I am not going to see my family, friends or puppy for a long time. :(

Eh, I also realized I am a facebook addict. >_>

THIS IS A POINTLESS ENTRY. BUT that's okay, because now I feel more freedom when it comes to writing; like I don't have to tailor it to an audience. I can rant, damn it, RANT.

Anyway, I've been checked out for awhile, and I'm blaming it partially on my obsession with being online. I get depressed that I'm not accomplishing anything, because I'm too busy typing a blog entry that no one will read. But I'm okay with that, I suppose.

Currently, I'm preparing for college. I am unreasonably (though most likely, expectedly) nervous. And excited. And anxious. And sad. I'm trying not to make it a bigger deal than it is; I got pretty dramatic and sappy in my yearbook messages to people who weren't even what I could consider "friends" this past year, merely because I thought, "I will never see you people again; I need to tell you what I think about you!" And after I graduated, it was like, "Hmmm. Yeah, I'll never see you again. And why should I care. . .?"

I mean, I know that sounds bitchy, but really, I have my own friends. Not that I'm not open to new friendships; do not think me unapproachable. But I don't need to be bffs with a dozen people from my old english class who didn't even speak to me until they reached the same conclusion that they would never see the same string of familiar faces again as well. It's too much.

I promised many of my friends we'd hang out before either they leave or I leave (my school starts later, in September, so my friends sticking around for community college or high school, I can still see). But it's like. . . I work every day but Sunday and Friday. Sundays, I have church (and we usually do something afterwards), so that leaves Friday as my one free day of the week. And as much as I love my friends, I began to get really burnt out using up all my free time going places to see them.

I'm the type who really likes staying either at home, or at someone's house. Yet some of my friends prefer to go all over the place.

I really miss them though, especially Fiona. I haven't seen her since the dreaded Gay-Man-in-the-Hotel-Room incident. Which I may or may not explain one day in this blog; right now, I'm thinking "no," because, who exactly is reading this?

But seriously Fi, if you stumble upon this entry, you should sleep over soon. I want to see you again. :(

In other news, I've been watching episodes of Ouran High School Host Club on youtube, and I love it so.

I'm out.

Love,
Pinky L.

Hat Hair-Kirk's Dilemma pg.1-3

A gag comic for my series "Hat Hair". . . don't think you need to know much about the story to get the joke. . . the main cast lives in a cave. Scruffy Talula is the sleeping imp, Kirk is the one in distress. Gumbo and the floating circles are just there. That's about it. Hope to color this one day when I get my tablet working again. I've always wanted a blog, though I really have no need for one. I'm not a very interesting person. I've already got an "About Me" type thing on this site, so what do I write for this introductory entry?

I'm rereading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, since the movie was beyond amazing, and reminded me how much I love the book. Now, typically, I hate the Harry Potter movies, so it's a big deal that I can even describe the latest as "beyond amazing". A very big deal. For me.

My puppy, Zorro, is turning one year old on Friday, and he's currently falling asleep on my lap. :)

I reckon it's time I head to bed.
